Step In Time: News

Our weekend of wool is finally over - in record heat we were either in a kilt with the MacKenzie Highlanders Pipes and Drums.....or as French Soldiers with Old Fort Niagara Les Tambours. A great weekend celebrating 4th of July as MacKenzies at the Falkner Park Summer Concert Series on friday, July 2nd - Step In Time did a half time show with, thankfully, no wardrobe malfunctions.  Marcia piped at the commemoration ceremony of the Peace Garden Saturday the 3rd in Lewiston then joined Monte at the Fort for the French and Indian War encampment, Saturday, we were at the Cheektowaga Parade with the MacKenzies and Sunday it was back to the Fort for the final day of French and Indian War encampment.

Hot wool in record heat. Nothing like it!!!

We'll be at the North Tonawanda History Museum for a concert of Celtic music on Thursday, July 22 at 7pm. This is part of the Canal Fest events. Come out and support this wonderful museum!

The Evangola Pirate Festival is July 24-25. This is a wonderful family friendly festival in beautiful Evangola State Park. There is lots of fun for kids - a treasure hunt, fearsome pirates and of course, music!  Located right on the beach, be sure to bring your bathing suits and enjoy the day!

HarpBeat participated in the kick off event of the new Niagara Celtic Ale Trail at the Irish Rose, June 20th. The Niagara Celtic Ale Trail is a group of pubs that support Celtic music in Northern Niagara County - the Irish Rose in Youngstown, Fitzgerald's Pub in Lockport, Dwyer's Pub in North Tonawanda are just a few of the particpating pubs. Join us for the first annual MacKenzie Highlanders Cabin Fever Ceilidh!! This is a fundraiser to  benefit the MacKenzie Highlanders pipes and drums.  Feature this year are; Step In Time, Celtic Circle Ceilidh Band, HarpBeat and of course the MacKenzie Highlanders.
